District Information Sessions and afternoon Clinics

The NSW Department of Family and Community Services has engaged Jobs Australia to develop and deliver a Sector Employment Assistance Scheme during May – October 2014.

The scheme is intended to provide practical support to NSW organisations funded under the Specialist Homelessness Services Program and the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness and their employees affected by restructuring resulting from the implementation of the Going Home Staying Home (GHSH) reforms.  You do not need to be a Jobs Australia member to access the support and advice available under this scheme.

As part of this scheme, Jobs Australia is conducting district information sessions and clinics to support organisations managing change as part of the GHSH reforms. The information sessions will be held in various regional and metropolitan locations across NSW following the announcement of tender outcomes, which is now expected to be in June 2014.

The information sessions are specifically designed for Managers responsible for managing organisational change that arises as a result of the tender process.  They provide an opportunity for participants to understand the industrial and human resources management implications of the GHSH reforms in terms of restructuring processes while balancing the industrial requirements with good HRM practice, employee welfare and policy objectives.

Specifically the information sessions will explore:

  • Change Management;
  • Potential redundancy;
  • Redeployment;
  • Transfer;
  • Retrenchment;
  • Dealing with disputes.

They will also provide opportunities for information sharing and networking to facilitate contact between exiting and incoming/expanding providers.

The afternoon clinics will provide a valuable opportunity to further explore more specific issues through individual consultations or at a small group level and also to develop an HR management implementation plan for your organisation.
